Teaching Resources

The Teaching Resources provide various teaching tools for students and instructors, including lecture notes and slides, online courses and individual classes, course outlines and syllabi, assessment and pedagogical strategies, animations, and laboratory procedures. The resources are intended to facilitate in the instruction of complicated biological mechanisms and theories, as well as invoke active student discussion and participation. In addition, many of the Teaching Resources help in developing necessary investigative techniques for success in the lab or in a research careeer. The Teaching Resources are indexed in the BioSciEdNet (BEN), a digital library portal of resources devoted to teaching biology.

For each resource, Science Signaling editors provide "Educational Details", which is information for the application of the Teaching Resource in education and includes the following.

  • Learning Resource Type
  • Context (the level of the students)
  • Intended Users
  • Intended Educational Uses
  • Discipline(s)
  • Keywords
  • Related Resources (if applicable)

Because Teaching Resources are so variable, each is handled individually. To contribute to a Teaching Resource, please contact the editors through the Feedback form.
