My Display SettingsMy Display Settings enables individual subscribers or registered users accessing through a Science Signaling site license to customize their searches. There are two ways to limit searches to make searches at Science Signaling more efficient for the user. First, searches may be limited to show only those results that are new since your last visit to Science Signaling or idle period at Science Signaling. Science Signaling will keep track of all new information added since your activity at the site ended (even if you leave your computer, but stay logged into Science Signaling overnight). To see the date of your last visit according to the Science Signaling, choose "My Display Settings" from the left navigation bar. To limit searches to display only those results that are newly added during an idle period, select the radio button for "Only new results since my last visit" in the "Results to Show" area on the Advanced Search page. The second personalized display setting that a user may choose involves selecting a set of favorite journals from the Virtual Journal. Simply click on "My Display Settings" and click the boxes next to the journals that you wish to select. Science Signaling will remember these journals every time you log in, however you can change these as often as you like. To limit searches to display only those results are from those journals in the Virtual Journal, select the radio button for "My Journals'" in the "Results to Show" area on the Advanced Search page. If you need to expand the search to include all results or wish to modify your search parameters, simply click the "Modify Search" link at the top of the search results page. To purchase an individual subscription to enjoy these personalization features from any computer, please go to the Access Options page. Alternatively, if your institution has a site license to Science Signaling, please register (to obtain a free username and password) or use your Science Online username and password to access these features. |
