The Science Signaling Glossary provides a list of acronyms, abbreviations, and terms used in Science Signaling original articles. The Glossary consists of three parts: the term names, the definitions, and links to the Connections Maps database. The definitions are provided by the editors based on the usage of the terms in Science Signaling articles. When available, terms have links to more detailed information in the Connections Maps database.

To find a term

2. Browse the list of terms alphabetically by clicking the letters at the top or bottom of the screen.

*Special characters, such as Greek letters, are not used in the term names (the bold entries on the left side). The Science Signaling Glossary is evolving. Please submit new terms and definitions for review by the editors. You may also use the form to request that a term that appeared in a Science Signaling article be added to the Glossary. Many terms have multiple meanings. To make the Glossary most useful for the signal transduction community, the editors have chosen to provide only those meanings used in Science Signaling articles.
