Information for Reviewers

Research Articles, Research Resources, Reviews, and Protocols are peer reviewed. Teaching Resources, Journal Clubs, and Connections Maps Overviews in the Archives are also peer-reviewed content. Each type of contribution has specific criteria; however, all submissions are reviewed for scientific accuracy, clarity, and conciseness of presentation. Detailed information for referees is available as PDFs. We prefer to receive referee comments through the online referee site. Peer review is anonymous and confidential.

Referees of Research Articles and Research Resources: Science Signaling is testing a new format for in-depth review of research content. We have developed a "Structured Review" document that outlines key elements that should be included in the referee's evaluation and comments. This document is part of the 2-page PDF below "Referees of Research Articles and Research Resources". We welcome your feedback on this new process. Please send your comments to with the subject line "Comments on Structured Review".
