How Cells Use Pseudopods for Persistent Movement and Navigation

Abstract: Pseudopods are cell extensions used for movement. The direction and trajectory of cell movement depend on how cells extend pseudopods. Experimental data show that new pseudopods are frequently formed by the splitting of an existing pseudopod, often as a series of left-right extensions. Here, these data on pseudopod extensions are discussed in the context of a theoretical model for pseudopod splitting.
