Abstract: This Podcast features a conversation with the senior author of a Research Article published in the 20 September 2011 issue of Science Signaling. Silvio Gutkind discusses his groups identification of signaling events downstream of the chemokine receptor CXCR4 that are required for metastasis of breast cancer cells. Interfering with this signaling axis might therefore provide a means for preventing metastasis in some breast cancers.
