Pathway Specificity Defining Specificity

Pawson and Nash have written an extensive review addressing the issue of how specificity is generated during signal transduction. The review starts with the complexity of interactions between the ligands and receptors and continues to explore how the interactions of the downstream components through modular protein domains contribute to specificity in the signaling cascade. The authors address how signaling pathways are integrated, as well as how they can be organized to prevent inappropriate cross talk.
