Sci. STKE, 27 June 2000 EDITORS' CHOICENEUROBIOLOGY Organizing the SynapseAbstract: Garner et al. have explored the topic of how PDZ domain-containing proteins contribute to synaptic organization and signaling. The review focuses primarily on the structure of the presynaptic density and covers such issues as the role of various PDZ-containing proteins in clustering receptors and contributing to downstream signaling events at glutamatergic synapses, organizing the cytoskeleton, and membrane and receptor recycling.
