Sci. STKE, 22 March 2005 TEACHING RESOURCESStructure of G Protein–Coupled Receptors and G ProteinsDepartment of Pharmacology and Biological Chemistry, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, NY 10029, USA. Abstract: This Teaching Resource provides lecture notes and slides for a class covering the structure and function of G protein–coupled receptors and is part of the course "Cell Signaling Systems: A Course for Graduate Students." The lecture begins with a discussion of the crystal structure of rhodopsin and G protein subunits and then proceeds to describe the molecular mechanisms of receptor activation and the subsequent release of G proteins. *Contact information.
