Summary: Enhancement and selective production of the protein phosphatase IIa inhibitor phoslactomycin (PLM) B by rational engineering of the PLM biosynthetic pathway highlights the effectiveness of combinatorial biosynthesis as a promising way to prepare complex natural products and their analogs.
