Description of the Slideshow

This slideshow is based on the slides and the associated movies that were presented by Ulrich von Andrian at the 11th Joint Meeting of the Signal Transduction Society (STS), Signal Transduction—Receptors, Mediators and Genes in Weimar, Germany (1 to 3 November 2007). The data presented may include unpublished materials that have not been peer-reviewed. The movies were created by intravital multiphoton microscopy (MPM-IVM) of the popliteal lymph node (popLN). The fluorescently labeled cells in the popLN were imaged by taking a z stack of xy sections at a set rate, and those stacks were then assembled into a volume for each time point. The movies are typically played at 15 frames/s, which is 225 times faster than the images were collected.
