Erratum

The following corrections should be noted for the Protocol "Monitoring Apoptosis with Fluorescent Zn2+-Indicators" by Kimura et al.

Recipe 3 was missing the directions for the preparation of the Stock Solution. This Stock Solution should also be used in Recipes 7 and 8.

Recipe 3: Zn2+-Detection Solutions
Stock Solution
Add 3.2 mg of L1•(HCl)4•(H2O)2 to 0.5 ml of HBSS for a final concentration of 10 mM Store at 4°C.
Zn2+-Detection Solution 1
Add 50 µl of Stock Solution to 5 ml of HBSS for a final concentration of 100 µM. Store at 4°C.

Recipe 7: Apoptosis-Detection Solution 1
Reagent Amount Final Concentration
L1•(HCl)4•(H2O)2 Stock Solution 50 µl 100 µM
(Recipe 3)    
PI, 10 mM 15 µl 30 µM
Add to 5 ml of HBSS. Store at 4°C.

Recipe 8: Apoptosis-Detection Solution 2
Reagent Amount Final Concentration
L1•(HCl)4•(H2O)2 Stock Solution 50 µl 100 µM
(Recipe 3)    
PI 1.0 mg 30 µM
Annexin V-Cy3 50 µl 1:100
Prepare in 5 ml of the binding buffer included in the Annexin V-Cy3 kit. Use immediately.
