Two vascular networks-the blood system and the lymphatic system-are required for maintaining tissues in a healthy state. In their Perspective, Jain and Padera discuss new work (Abtahianet al.) that identifies two signaling molecules involved in the separation of the blood and lymphatic networks during embryonic development.
