Most people have experienced that sinking feeling as they roam through a parking lot looking for their car and can't remember where they parked it. In a Perspective, Bilkey explains that a neuronal network in the brain that includes the entorhinal cortex and the hippocampus may be responsible for encoding the specific spatial memories associated with where we parked our car or left our keys.
