What do you say about using 2-D proteomics?

Hello members, What do you think about the idea of using 2-D electrophoresis using the membrane fraction of the cells for topology mapping? I do feel that this will not only give one an outlook of the resting cells as such but also provide information about the changes in the cells' membrane status both in normal resting conditions and in activated states. Please comment on the feasibility of the process.
