Highlights from the Society for Neuroscience Meeting 2012

This year's meeting of the Society for Neuroscience occurred October 13-17 in New Orleans. Lily Jan (a member of the Science Signaling Board of Reviewing Editors) and her husband Yuh Nung Jan received the 2012 Gruber Neuroscience Prize. They presented a historical review of their laboratory's work in neurodevelopment and dendritic structure and function studies (Y. N. Jan) and in channel cloning and biology (L. Jan). In their 40 years, they have trained 128 students and postdoctoral fellows and have contributed to our understanding of the molecular mechanisms of neural development and regulation of synaptic activity.
