Online Cover This week features a Research Article that uses single-particle tracking to show that a soluble form of amyloid-β impairs synaptic function by inhibiting the clearance of calcium ions from neurons, consequently activating the kinase CaMKIV, which promotes the dissociation of complexes that transport synaptic vesicles. The image shows an artistic depiction of vesicles along an axon. [Image: Daehun Park, Seoul National University College of Medicine, South Korea]
