Slides. Introduction to MATLAB. This Presentation contains slides for two lectures in a graduate course on systems biology. The lectures introduce students to concepts and principles that illustrate how to use the programming language MATLAB.

Example files. Five MATLAB scripts, each of which plots ligand-receptor complex as a function of ligand concentration for different values of the dissociation constant KD. The scripts are numbered from "plot_LR_v1.m" to "plot_LR_v5.m". The sophistication of the MATLAB programming increases from the first to the fifth file. Each is ~1 kB.

Problem set. The MATLAB script "computeLR.m" generates a plot of the concentration of ligand-receptor complex for different values of KD. This file can be used as a template to complete Part 1 of the Problem Set. The file "flash4.jpg" contains fluorescence data obtained using a confocal microscope and a custom-built system for spatially localized flash photolysis. These data are analyzed in Part 2 of the Problem Set.
