COVER This week's issue features a Research Article that demonstrates how ATP, released through pannexin hemichannels, signals in an autocrine fashion through purinergic receptors on activated T cells to provide a costimulatory signal. The authors showed that inhibition of ATP signaling reduced inflammation in mouse models of diabetes and inflammatory bowel disease.
