ONLINE COVER This week's issue features a Research Article that describes how apoptotic endothelial cells at atherosclerotic plaques release microvesicles that contain a microRNA that modulates the signaling of neighboring cells. This causes the release of a factor that attracts progenitor cells that help to limit the size of the plaque in mouse models of atherosclerosis. The image shows a collar-induced plaque in the carotid artery of a mouse.
