Online Cover Posttranslational modifications involved in regulation of the cell cycle are the topic of two Research Articles in this week's issue. In the Research Article by Olsen et al., the authors use mass spectrometry to characterize the phosphoproteome during all phases of the cell cycle. In the Research Article by Wang et al., the authors use mass spectrometry to characterize the proteins modified by O-GlcNAcylation during the last stages of mitosis. The cover image shows the global landscape of the phosphoproteome during cell cycle phases. A subset of the quantified phosphoproteome time course was rendered as blue-green traces using Processing (http://processing.org/) and was subsequently mapped to a globe geometry.
