ONLINE COVER This week's issue features a Research Article describing how the combination of increased Wnt signaling and reduced fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) signaling results in premature closure of the skull bones through a process involving chondrogenesis. These studies in mice provide insight into the congenital disorder known as craniosynostosis, which is caused by premature closure of the skull bones.
