ONLINE COVER This week's issue features a Research Article that presents the crystal structure of the Arabidopsis thaliana G protein α subunit, AtGPA1. The solution of this structure and molecular dynamics simulations identified differences between AtGPA1 and mammalian G protein α subunits that account for the ability of AtGPA1 to become activated in the absence of canonical G protein–coupled receptors.
