ONLINE COVER This week features a Research Article showing that the transcription factor Mad, which is best characterized as an effector of the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) pathway, also participates in the Wingless pathway. The image shows a mutant fruit fly expressing a form of Mad that is resistant to BMP-induced phosphorylation in the eye.
