Online Cover This week features a Research Article that characterizes the mechanism by which the p110β isoform of the kinase PI3K is activated by Gβγ subunits downstream of G protein–coupled receptors (GPCRs). The p110β isoform can also be activated by receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs), and work in this study generated a peptide that specifically inhibited the activation of p110β by GPCRs but not by RTKs.
