ONLINE COVER This week features a Research Article that describes the mechanism by which the mechanotransducer zyxin responds to stretch. Zxyin is associated with focal adhesins at the plasma membrane but migrates to the nucleus in response to stretch to stimulate target gene expression. The image shows a stretched mouse femoral artery with zyxin in red, nuclei in blue, and elastic vessel fibers in green.
