stands for upstream activator sequence; DNA sequence that enables transcriptional regulation by a particular transcription factor

UBA:

stands for ubiquitin-associated; a protein domain that binds monubiquitinated proteins

UbcH7:

stands for human ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme 7; an E3 ligase

UEV:

stands for ubiquitin E2 variant; a domain that recognizes monoubiqutinated proteins

UIM:

stands for ubiquitin interaction motif; a ubiquitin-binding domain implicated in endocytosis

uPA:

stands for urokinase-type plasminogen activator; serine protease implicated in production of plasmin

UPR:

stands for unfolded protein response; an endoplasmic reticulum stress response

UTR:

stands for untranslated region; mRNA sequence that is not translated into protein but contains response elements and other regulatory sequences
