V
- VAMP:
- stands for vesicle-associated membrane protein; a family of vesicle SNARE (v-SNARE) proteins, which mediate membrane fusion
- VASP:
- stands for vasodilator-stimulated phosphoprotein; family of proteins implicated in the regulation of actin dynamics; Connections Map Component -- Vasodilator-stimulated phosphoprotein
- Vav:
- an exchange factor for Rho-family small guanosine-triphosphases; Connections Map Component -- Vav
- VCAM:
- stands for vascular cell adhesion molecule; a member of the immunoglobulin G (IgG) superfamily that binds integrins
- VDCC:
- stands for voltage-dependent Ca2+ channel; plasma membrane ion channel that is permeable to Ca2+ and opens in response to changes in the potential difference across the cell membrane
- VEGF:
- stands for vascular endothelial growth factor; a family of growth factors implicated in angiogenesis
- VGCC:
- stands for voltage-gated calcium channels; plasma membrane ion channel that is permeable to Ca2+ and opens in response to changes in the potential difference across the cell membrane
- VIP:
- stands for vasoactive intestinal peptide or vasoactive intestinal polypeptide; a neuropeptide
- VISA:
- stands for virus-induced signaling adaptor; an adaptor involved in responses to viral infection, also known as MAVS, IPS-1, and CARDIF
- VLA-4:
- stands for very late antigen-4; also known as
4β1 integrin; Connections Map Component -- Integrins
- VR:
- stands for vanilloid receptor; an ion channel found in nociceptors that responds to capsaicin and related compounds
- VSC:
- stands for volume-sensitive channel
- VSV:
- stands for vesicular stomatitis virus; a rhabdovirus that modulates protein synthesis in the host cell
- VV:
- stands for vaccinia virus; a poxvirus
