This month’s articles show how a hypha-associated fungal peptide triggers an antifungal immune response and how the lipid PIP2 sustains B cell receptor signaling.

Calibrating antifuncal responses

Verma et al. showed that the hypha-associated peptide candidalysin stimulates an IL-17–dependent immune response to Candida albicans infection (see Li et al.).

Sustaining B cell receptor signaling

Xu et al. used live cell imaging to examine the localization of the lipid PIP2 in B cells and found that a PIP2-driven amplification loop sustains B cell receptor signaling.
