Online Cover This week features a Research Article that shows that nuclear localization of the lipid and protein phosphatase PTEN prevents cytokine-mediated organ injury during sepsis. Surgical induction of sepsis in mice induced the PTEN-dependent generation of microRNAs targeting the Toll-like receptor adaptor protein MyD88, thus limiting the damaging effects of sepsis.
