About The Cover

Online Cover This week features a Research Article that shows that PC2 restricts mitochondrial tethering to the ER to limit cellular proliferation in the kidney. Loss of PC2 in type 2 autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease results in increased mitochondria-ER association, enhanced mitochondrial Ca2+ influx, inappropriate kidney epithelial cell proliferation, and cyst formation. The image shows an artist's rendition of a human kidney. [Image: imageBROKER/Alamy Stock Photo]
