Abstract
Calcium is one of the key regulators of numerous intracellular processes, and literature related to this topic dates back to the late 1800s. A recent book, filled with contributions from experts in the field of calcium analysis and function, summarizes many of the roles of intracellular calcium and calcium regulation in various cell types. Anthony Campbell reviews this compendium and explains why both experts and nonexperts in the calcium field may find this book useful, depending on what they are looking for.
