Tec kinases are a family of nonreceptor tyrosine kinases with important roles in the differentiation, function, and homeostasis of T cells, B cells, and mast cells. Yang et al. discuss the structure of Tec kinases, their regulation, and their signal transduction pathways in this review. Additionally, the authors provide an overview of the genetic mutations in this kinase family and the associated phenotypes in both humans and mice.
