Abstract
Science and Science's STKE tackle the intriguing questions of how the brain gives rise to thoughts, emotions, and behavior--questions so challenging and so complex that they must be addressed on many different levels before a coherent image of the whole can begin to emerge. Studies at the subcellular, cellular, neuronal network, and behavioral levels all add critical elements to our emerging vision of brain function. Science's STKE highlights the cellular and molecular processes that may underlie synaptic plasticity and signaling pathways that contribute to higher neural function, such as learning, memory, and behavior.
