Abstract
This Podcast features a conversation with the senior author of a Research Report published in the April 22 issue of Science. Chuan-ju Liu discusses his group’s finding that the growth factor progranulin (PGRN) bound to the tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) and antagonized signaling by TNFα. Mice lacking PGRN developed more severe inflammatory arthritis in response to immunization with collagen than normal mice, and PGRN treatment reduced the severity of symptoms in mouse models of rheumatoid arthritis.
